Prof. Felix Ankomah Asante

Professor Felix Ankomah Asante chairs the board of the Institute.He is currently the Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) of University of Ghana. After completing his first and second degrees in BSc Agriculture (Agriculture Economics) and MPhil in Agriculture Economics from the University of Ghana in 1990 and 1995, respectively, he obtained his PhD in Agriculture Economics from the Center for Development Research, University of Bonn, Germany in 2002. He joined the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana some 17 years ago as a Research Fellow in January 1996.  He rose to Senior Research Fellow in 2005 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010. He served as the Head of the Economics Division at ISSER from August 2007 to March 2011. Before his appointment as Director of ISSER on 1st August 2013, Prof. Asante has served as the Deputy Director from September 2011 to July 2013. Prof. Asante has served on numerous Boards and Committees at ISSER and the University of Ghana. He is also an External Examiner at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi and the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast.  He has consulted for many local and international organizations as well as several countries in Africa and Europe. Prof. Asante has received numerous awards and grants from major donors and published over 50 papers in journals, books, book chapters and others.

Dr. Christoph Behrens

Dr. Christoph Behrens, born 1962, is a Senior Government Advisor with background in Political Science and Public Management. He is currently assigned with Communication and Coordination of Foreign Policy, Education, Science and Culture Policy at the Representation Office of the State of Schleswig-Holstein at the Federal Government and Parliament in Berlin / Germany. Since 2006 he works as Consultant and Integrated Expert for Democratization, Good Governance and Organizational Development, a.o. with the Indonesian Government and at the Office of the Secretary General of the ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly.  Holding a Ph.D. from Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel (Germany) with a thesis on Diversity Management, Dr. Behrens is teaching since 2001 as a lecturer and since 2011 as Professor for Public Management and Politics at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY, Indonesia). He is Director of the Center for Good Governance.  Research interests: Complexity, Sustainability and Education; Innovative Human Capacity Development and Leadership; specific problems in context of Globalization and Modernization.
